Fields of Fury is a game of capture the flag, so the flag matters more than anything else. Choose your role with that in mind: the rifleman, the shotgunner and the machine gunner each suit a different way of playing. Try them all to find the one that fits you, and think about how your role helps the team take or defend the flag.
The maps are made of trenches, forests and ruined villages, and that cover is your friend. Moving between trenches and walls is safer than running across open fields. Space jumps, and reloading with R before you leave cover saves you from running out at the wrong moment. If you are new, a private arena with friends is a relaxed way to learn the maps and controls before playing against people from around the world. Extra weapons lie on the battlefield, so it pays to learn where they are.
Fields of Fury is a capture the flag shooter set in the Second World War. Before a match you pick one of three roles: rifleman, shotgunner or machine gunner. Then you join a match against people from around the world, or open a private arena and invite your friends to play among yourselves.
Every match revolves around the flag, so whatever role you choose, your job is to help your side take it and hold it. The battlefields are made of trenches, forests and ruined villages, and that cover decides a lot: moving from trench to wall to ruin is far safer than crossing an open field. Each role plays differently, so it is worth trying all three to find the one that suits you, and thinking about how your role helps the team around the flag. Careful movement alongside your team pays off far more than charging ahead alone.
On a computer you move with WASD, look with the mouse, click to shoot and right-click to aim, jump with Space and reload with R; Tab shows the scoreboard and Esc releases the mouse cursor. On a phone or tablet, hold the screen sideways: your left thumb moves, dragging on the right side looks around, and you hold the fire button to shoot, with buttons for aiming, jumping, reloading and switching weapons.

It suits players who enjoy team games with a historical setting and like to think about where they move as much as how fast they aim. The Second World War backdrop of trenches, forests and ruined villages gives every map plenty of cover to use, and the three roles give you a choice of how to play. Private arenas make it easy to learn the game with friends before you take on people from around the world. Your rank climbs as you play, so there is always a next rank to reach when you come back.
