Did you like Sushi Street?

Sushi Street

Sushi Street is a conveyor-belt sushi bar drawn as a cosy izakaya after dark: warm wood, paper lanterns swinging over the counter, a noren curtain at the door and a wet neon street running past the window. You work the station at the bottom of the screen. Tap the rice tub, tap a topping, and a piece appears on the pass. Slide it onto the belt and it rides past every seat until the person who wanted it reaches out and takes it. Hand a plate over in person instead and they tip you a little more for the speed.

Eight toppings open up over the run — salmon, egg, cucumber, tuna, shrimp, avocado, salmon roe and glazed eel — and from the third evening a sheet of nori turns rice and a filling into a maki roll. Every customer shows what they are after in a thought bubble above their head, and a bar underneath shows how long they will wait for it. The salaryman is in a hurry, the grandma will sit happily all night, the sumo always orders two, and the cat on the end stool only ever wants fish. Serve three in a row without wasting a plate and a combo multiplier starts stacking up your coins. Let a plate go round with nobody wanting it and you can bin it, but it costs you the combo and a few coins.

Fifteen shifts get busier one step at a time. Rush hours empty the street into the bar, the cold box runs low and needs a tap to restock, and a tea round buys back a little patience from everyone at once. Get through a shift without losing a customer and you take three stars, which opens the next evening and whatever comes with it: a new topping, the tea service, a longer belt that holds ten plates, or an apprentice chef who quietly starts making the piece most people are waiting for. It plays with one thumb in portrait, widens to seat six on a desktop, and your stars are kept in your browser.

Tips for Sushi Street

In Sushi Street, check the thought bubbles and the patience bars before you make anything. Serve the customers with the shortest bars first: the salaryman is in a hurry, while the grandma will sit happily all night. Only make pieces someone has asked for, because a plate that goes round with nobody wanting it has to be binned, which costs you the combo and a few coins. Three serves in a row without a wasted plate start the combo multiplier, so accuracy pays more than speed.

Handing a plate straight to a customer earns a bigger tip than the belt, so do that for anyone close to running out of patience. Restock the cold box as soon as it runs low so you are not caught short in a rush hour, and save the tea round for when several customers are getting restless at once, since it buys back a little patience for everyone. Remember that the sumo always orders two and the cat only ever wants fish. Aim to lose nobody in a shift: that earns three stars and opens the next evening.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sushi Street free to play?

Yes. Sushi Street is free to play in your browser on Kiloo. There is nothing to download and no account needed, and the stars you earn on each shift are kept in your browser.

Can I play Sushi Street on my phone?

Yes. It plays with one thumb in portrait: tap the rice, tap a topping, then tap the belt, or tap a customer to hand a plate over. On a desktop the counter widens to seat six, and you can use the keyboard as well.

How do I unlock new evenings in Sushi Street?

Finish a shift without losing a customer to take three stars, which opens the next evening. There are fifteen shifts, and each one can bring something new, such as a topping, the tea service, a longer belt that holds ten plates or an apprentice chef.

How do I make a maki roll in Sushi Street?

From the third evening a sheet of nori joins the station, and it turns rice and a filling into a maki roll. On a keyboard R starts the rice, the number keys add toppings, N adds nori and Space sends the piece to the belt.
