A find-the-hidden-cats game in fifteen busy picture-book scenes. Drag around a packed city square, a ski resort, a carnival or a space station, zoom right in and tap the cats peeking out of windows, sitting behind legs and curled up in baskets.
Did you like Cat Hunt?
Cat Hunt is a find-the-cat game in the busy picture-book tradition. Every scene is one huge illustration packed with well over a hundred people, animals and props: a city square with a fountain, a sunny beach, a ski resort, a train station, a carnival, a zoo, a shopping street, a harbour, a music festival, a farm fair, a space station, a castle feast, a water park, a grand library and a night market. Somewhere in each one, eight cats are hiding. One peeks out of a window, one sits on a roof next to the chimney, one is curled up in a basket, one is tucked in behind somebody's legs, and one is wearing a hat and hoping nobody notices.
Drag to look around, zoom in with the buttons, a pinch or the mouse wheel, and tap a cat when you spot it: it meows, and a paw print stamps its face on the counter at the top. A minimap in the corner shows where you are in the picture. Every cat is a proper little drawing that is never more than partly hidden, so a sharp eye always wins. If you get stuck, the hint button sends a ripple of paw prints close to one of the cats, with three hints per scene and a short wait between them. While you look, keep an eye on the little jokes in the crowd: a dog taking its owner for a walk, a dropped ice cream, a goat eating somebody's hat.
Scenes open one after another, and each one earns up to three stars for a quick time and few hints, so there is always a reason to come back and beat your best. The daily scene hides the cats in new places every day, the same for everyone, which makes it a nice little brain workout with your morning coffee. And if you would rather simply relax, Free Look lets you wander through any scene you have opened with no clock at all. Your stars, best times and opened scenes are saved in your browser.
The scenes in Cat Hunt are huge, so work through them in strips instead of darting about. Zoom in, move steadily across the picture and use the minimap in the corner to see which parts you have covered. The cats hide in familiar sorts of places: peeking out of windows, sitting on roofs by the chimney, curled up in baskets and tucked behind people's legs, and one may be wearing a hat. No cat is ever more than partly hidden, so a careful look always finds it.
Stars come from a quick time and few hints, so try each scene without help first. If the last cat will not show itself, the hint button sends a ripple of paw prints close to one of them; there are three per scene with a short wait between them. When you just want to look around, Free Look lets you wander any scene you have opened with no clock, and the daily scene puts the cats somewhere new.

Yes. On a touch screen you drag to look around, pinch to zoom and tap a cat when you spot it. On a computer you drag with the mouse, zoom with the wheel or the + and − keys, and press H for a hint.
Every scene hides eight cats, and there are fifteen scenes, from a city square and a ski resort to a space station and a night market. A counter at the top stamps a paw print for each cat you find.
Free Look lets you wander through any scene you have already opened with no clock at all. It is the mode for when you would rather relax and enjoy the little jokes in the crowd than chase stars.
