Run a little film studio on a sunny backlot: pick a genre, cast your cartoon stars, choose a set and shoot scene by scene, then watch the audience laugh, swoon and scream through a week in cinemas.
Did you like Movie Studio?
Movie Studio is a relaxed film studio tycoon seen from above. Every production is a short pipeline you steer with a few taps. Pick one of three genre cards (Western, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comedy, Romance or Horror), keep the title the generator gives you or shuffle a new one, cast two or three stars from a roster of fourteen cartoon actors, each with a mood, a fee and a skill for every genre, then choose a set: a dusty western street, a kitchen, a castle, a spaceship, a haunted house or a moonlit garden. Call action and the scenes roll.
Things go wrong on set, the way they do. A rainy day, a diva moment, a broken prop, a pigeon that wants to be in the picture: each hiccup comes with two or three answers, and every answer shows exactly what it costs in coins, hours or quality. Pick the music in the edit, then premiere the film and watch the box office roll in for five to seven days, with the audience's reactions popping up as little faces. Every number is one tap away: the quality is a sum of visible parts, and the books show where each coin came from and went.
Spend what you earn on sound stages, a bigger set catalogue, an effects workshop, a marketing van, star trailers, a catering truck and finally a cinema of your own. Sign your favourite stars to contracts, chase the season's favourite genres and win trophies at the awards night that closes every season. Twenty goals lead from your first short to a blockbuster and a trophy in every genre, with a little brain work in every casting choice, and Sandbox opens everything for endless filmmaking. Time runs in studio hours at 1×, 2× or 4×, there is a skip to the premiere, and a streaming deal always helps out if you cannot pay a crew. Progress saves in your browser.
In Movie Studio, casting is where most films are won. Every actor has a mood, a fee and a skill for each genre, so look at the skill for the genre you picked before the fee, and remember that the season's favourite genres are worth chasing. Once you find stars you like working with, sign them to contracts.
On set, read every answer to a hiccup before you choose. Each one shows exactly what it costs in coins, hours or quality, so weigh what matters most to this film before you pick. Because the quality of a film is a sum of visible parts, you can tap through and see which choice helped and which held it back, and the books show where every coin went. Spend early earnings on things that widen your options, like sound stages and a bigger set catalogue, before the cinema of your own. If you ever cannot pay a crew, a streaming deal helps out, and Sandbox opens everything when you simply want to make films.

Yes. On a phone or tablet you tap cards and buttons to pitch, cast and shoot, and tap a building on the backlot to see what it does. On a computer you click, or use the arrow keys and Enter, with 1, 2 and 3 for the speed and F to skip ahead.
After the premiere, the box office rolls in for five to seven days, and you can watch the audience's reactions pop up as little faces. You can also skip ahead to the premiere instead of waiting through the studio hours.
There are six genres: Western, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comedy, Romance and Horror. Each pitch offers three genre cards to pick from, and the twenty goals include winning a trophy in every genre at the awards night at the end of each season.
Run the place, grow the numbers.

Grow plants, stock the shop, beat the frost

Sort the parcels, beat the traffic

Curate the town museum

Keep the valley's lights on

Lifts up, pistes down, skiers everywhere

Mix it, price it, hear what the lane thinks

Paths, rides and a coaster of your own

Land them, park them, send them off on time

Run a seaside hotel, floor by floor

Turn the pipes, open the valve

Seven letters, two minutes

Tap a group, watch the board crumble

Line up five, keep the board clear

Link the dots, close a square

Spot what changed

Craft the kit, watch the bonks

Tap in time, build to the sky

Aim, fire, pop the tub clean

Hold to glide, let go to dive
