Bend the beam, crack the vault

A Victorian plumber's puzzle in brass and copper: turn the cast pipe tiles until the valve reaches every tank, then open the red wheel and watch the water run. Any joint that does not meet will spray.
Did you like Pipe Flow?
Pipe Flow puts a slab of riveted iron in front of you, studded with cast brass, copper and verdigris fittings: straights, elbows, tees, crosses and capped ends, each one a quarter turn away from where it needs to be. Tap a tile to turn it. Join the red valve wheel at the top to the brass tank at the bottom, and when every joint lines up, open the valve. The water runs through tile by tile, glowing and bubbling in the elbows, filling the sight glass on the tank. Get one joint wrong and it sprays through the gap with a hiss of steam, and the run is over.
One hundred and twenty boards are laid out across six workshops. The Basement starts at five by five and asks only that you read the pipe. The Boiler Room stretches the runs. The Pump House bolts some castings down in cold iron so they will never turn. The Clock Tower adds gear tiles that drag their neighbours round with them, so a single tap can fix three joints or ruin them. The Waterworks runs two colours of water at once, and they must never share a pipe. The Grand Engine is ten by ten with all of it at the same time. Every board stores the exact number of turns a perfect solve takes, and three stars go to anyone who does not waste one.
There is a Daily Pipe, an eight by eight board that is the same for everyone on the same day, a three-minute Rush of quick five by five boards, and Zen, which is endless and does not count your moves at all. Undo walks back a turn at a time, restart puts the slab back the way you found it, and a hint picks out one casting that is still facing the wrong way. It takes taps, clicks and the keyboard alike, it lays the board out down the screen on a phone and across it on a desktop, and your stars are kept in your browser so the workshop is where you left it.
Pipe Flow gives you one chance with the water, so never open the valve until you have traced the whole run by eye. A single joint that does not meet will spray and end the attempt. Work from both ends at once, from the red valve wheel down and from the tank up, and meet in the middle. In the Pump House, the bolted castings never turn, so build the rest of the run around them.
Stars depend on using the exact number of turns a perfect solve needs, so think before you tap. In the Clock Tower, gear tiles turn their neighbours too, so check what a tap will do to the tiles around it. In the Waterworks, keep the two colours of water in separate pipes. If you lose track, restart rather than undoing one turn at a time. Zen does not count moves, which makes it a calm place to learn how the castings fit together.
Yes. Pipe Flow is free to play in your browser on Kiloo, with nothing to download and no account to create. Your stars are saved in your browser, so the workshops are just as you left them when you come back.
Yes. On a phone the board is laid out down the screen and you tap a pipe tile to turn it a quarter turn. On a computer you can click, or use the arrow keys and Space, with U to undo and H for a hint.
There are 120 boards across six workshops, from the Basement at five by five up to the Grand Engine at ten by ten. On top of those there is a Daily Pipe, a three-minute Rush and an endless Zen board.
Every board stores the exact number of turns a perfect solve takes. Solve it without wasting a single turn and you get three stars. Undo steps back one turn at a time if you change your mind.
Think ahead, clear the board.

Bend the beam, crack the vault

Plan the order, never pull

Numbers in, picture out

Dig, dodge, collect diamonds

Slide, merge, reach 2048

Stack, clear, don't top out

Match three, chain the cascades

Logic, nerves and one wrong click

Four difficulties, one right answer

Seven letters, two minutes

Tap a group, watch the board crumble

Line up five, keep the board clear

Link the dots, close a square

Spot what changed

Cosy detective logic grids in pictures

Tap in time, build to the sky

Hold to glide, let go to dive

Bubble-blast through five seas
