Full throttle through the harbour

Pick a driver, grab an item box and hold your line through three laps of cartoon chaos. Drift the long corners for a mini-boost, launch off the ramps, and keep one eye behind you: the kart in eighth has the lightning.
Did you like Kart Rush?
Kart Rush is a behind-the-kart racer drawn like a Saturday-morning cartoon. The track is a flat ribbon of tarmac projected in perspective, so the road rolls and banks towards a puffy-cloud horizon while everything on it — rivals, trees, item boxes, the jelly you just dropped — scales up smoothly as it comes at you. Eight karts start on the grid, and you are in the middle of it.
The driving is easy to pick up and has a ceiling. Gas, brake and steer get you round; holding drift through a long corner locks the kart into a slide that charges to blue, orange and pink, and letting go at the right moment fires a mini-boost out of the exit. Ramps throw you into the air, the grass outside the rumble strips drags you down to a crawl, and a bump from a heavier rival will put you on the wrong line into the next bend. Item boxes hand out five things: a turbo, a wobbling jelly you drop behind you, a shield that shrugs off one hit, a homing bubble that pops the kart in front, and a bolt that shrinks the entire rest of the field for a few seconds. What you get depends on where you are — the leader mostly gets defence, last place gets the good stuff.
Four circuits, each with its own weather and scenery: Meadow Circuit is wide and forgiving, Sandcastle Bay runs long sweepers along the water, Snowcone Summit climbs and drops through tight bends, and Neon Speedway is a night track of long straights and hairpins. Race any of them on their own, or take all four in the Kart Rush Cup, where points are awarded for each finish and the table is settled after the last flag. Two of you on one keyboard can split the screen and settle it between yourselves; best lap and best race times are kept for every circuit.
Kart Rush rewards the drift more than anything else. Hold Shift through the long corners and keep the slide going while it charges from blue to orange to pink, then let go as you reach the exit so the mini-boost fires you down the next stretch. Stay on the tarmac, because the grass beyond the rumble strips drags you down to a crawl and costs far more time than a slightly wide line. Ramps are part of the racing line, and heavier rivals are not: a bump going into a bend leaves you on the wrong line, so give them room.
Items depend on your position. The leader mostly gets defence, so when you are in front, keep the shield ready for the homing bubble that is coming from behind. Further back you are more likely to draw the turbo or the bolt, which shrinks the rest of the field for a few seconds, so use them where you can pass several karts at once. Start on Meadow Circuit, which is wide and forgiving, before taking on the hairpins of Neon Speedway or the full Kart Rush Cup.
Yes. Kart Rush is free to play in your browser on Kiloo. There is nothing to download and no account to create, so you can pick a driver and start racing straight away. Your best lap and best race times are kept for every circuit.
Yes. On a phone or tablet, on-screen buttons steer, hit the gas, drift and fire items. On a computer you steer with the arrow keys or WASD, drift with Shift and fire an item with Space. P pauses and M mutes.
Yes. Two of you can share one keyboard and split the screen, racing each other on the same track with the rest of the field around you. Every circuit works in split-screen, so you can settle it on whichever track you like best.
The Kart Rush Cup takes you through all four circuits in a row: Meadow Circuit, Sandcastle Bay, Snowcone Summit and Neon Speedway. Points are awarded for every finish, and the table is settled after the last flag, so one bad race does not have to cost you the Cup.
Drift, dash and race to the line.

Full throttle through the harbour

Lean, throttle, land it

Zero gravity, full throttle

Listen to the notes, trust the slide

Crush the cars, nail the landing

Neon tunnels, no brakes

Three wheels, three laps, no manners

Slide every corner

Tuck, carve, send it

Tap the cars out of a packed lot

Slide the cars, free the red one

Hook it, tow it, back it in

Bump, slide and grab the stars

Solo or two players on one screen

Hook it into the pocket

Time the swing, clear the wall

Tuck, launch, lean, telemark

Draw, breathe, release

Drop, match, grow the melon
